Massage Therapy in McKinney
Massage can be a powerful adjunct to chiropractic care, and our experienced massage therapists are here to help you heal and get back to living your best life.
At Craig Ranch Chiropractic, we do not offer this form of bodywork as a stand-alone service. Our massage services are reserved for our active chiropractic patients only.
Why Massage?
Massage aims to help the muscles relax and reset, which can help facilitate the healing process. It’s most effective when combined with chiropractic care. When there are misalignments in the joints, pressure on the nearby nerves can cause those nerves to tell the muscles to contract. A massage may help the muscle relax temporarily, but if the nerve sends the message to contract, the muscle will return to that tightened state.
Reducing stress may be the most popular benefit of massage, and it’s an important one, given our fast-paced, stressful society. Other benefits may include:
- Relieve pain/improve range of motion
- Alleviate pregnancy discomfort
- Ease medication dependence
- Stimulate lymph flow to enhance immunity
- Stretch and strengthen weakened muscles
- Prepare for/recover from workouts or competition
- Reduce depression and anxiety
- Improve circulation
- Decrease post-surgery adhesions and swelling
- Relieve migraine pain
- Release endorphins
- Relax and soften injured, tired, or overused muscles
Our therapists are all about resolution, so the techniques we offer are not spa-type relaxation techniques. Rather, we use methods designed to help the muscles and fascia heal and recover from injury. Some of our techniques include:
- Cupping
- Myofascial release
- Trigger point therapy
- Prenatal
- Swedish
- Jaw release
- Sports
It’s perfectly fine if you don’t know which technique is best for you! Your therapist will talk with you about your specific situation and collaborate with Dr. Allam to design the best session for your specific needs and goals.
