Extremity Adjusting in McKinney
Many people think that chiropractic care is just about the spine, but the truth is that every joint in the body needs to be properly aligned and moving correctly to prevent symptoms like pain, mobility issues, and other dysfunctions.
Who We Help
Dr. Allam performs extremity adjustments on almost all of our patients. For many, the problem is a minor annoyance—similar to when you feel like cracking your knuckles. However, addressing it and restoring proper alignment so the joint can “track” correctly can prevent the joint from getting stuck in that improper position and causing bigger problems in the future.
For other patients, the problem may be advanced to the point that they’re facing surgery. We frequently see this with knee irritation when the knee joint is not tracking correctly and the traditional medical approach hasn’t helped. Within a few visits, we can often get the knee joint tracking as it should—without surgery.
Other common conditions we see are
- Frozen shoulder
- Golfer’s/tennis elbow
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Plantar fasciitis
- Jaw pain/TMJ disorders
- Ankle pain
Our Approach
For most extremity adjustments, Dr. Allam uses Activator Methods®, a handheld instrument that delivers a high-velocity, low-force adjustment. It’s ideal for extremities because it’s small and can fit in small joint areas like wrists and ankles.
Your adjustments will be customized to your specific needs and goals and may include a variety of other adjusting techniques, depending on the situation. Dr. Allam will explain his findings and recommendations for care and answer all of your questions so you understand what’s going on with your body and how our approach may help.
